Hosting and server log files
This website is delivered via Cloudflare Pages, a service of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When the site is accessed, data is automatically recorded in server log files: page requested, date and time, data volume transferred, browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL and IP address. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in technically faultless operation. We do not access these log files ourselves; the retention period is governed by the provider's policy.
No external resources
Fonts, images and stylesheets are served exclusively from this domain. Services from third parties, where we use them, are listed individually below.
Cookieless audience measurement
For audience measurement we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. The service works without cookies and without any identifier: it records only aggregated information such as the page requested, the referring page, the approximate country of origin, browser type, device type and loading time. Individual visitors are not recognised, no profiles are created and the IP address is not stored. As no information is stored on or read from your device, no consent under Section 25 TDDDG is required. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Google Analytics (only with your consent)
If you agree in the notice banner, we use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The service is only loaded once you have agreed. If you decline or make no choice at all, not a single request goes to Google. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects, among other things, the pages you visit, time spent, referring page, approximate location, device and browser; data is also transferred to servers of Google LLC in the USA. The transfer is based on the standard contractual clauses under Art. 46 GDPR and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; a residual risk of access by US authorities remains. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. You may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future via the “Cookie settings” link in the page footer.
RSS feed
If you subscribe to our RSS feed, your feed reader requests the feed file from our server. The same server log data applies as for any page request.
If you write to us, we process your message and email address only to answer you. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Emails to our address are received by Cloudflare Email Routing (Cloudflare, Inc., USA) and forwarded to our mailbox at Google Workspace (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland), where we read and answer them. Both providers act as our processors; processing in the USA cannot be ruled out (see “Transfers to third countries” below). We delete the message once it is no longer needed and no statutory retention periods apply.
Transfers to third countries (USA)
Cloudflare delivers the site via a global network; visitors from Europe are normally served from data centres within the EU. Processing of data, in particular the IP address, in the USA cannot be ruled out. The transfer is based on the Standard Contractual Clauses under Art. 46 GDPR and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. A residual risk of access by US authorities remains.
Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). Contact editor@toysandcrew.com to exercise them. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for us the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
